Have turned my fan up to medium instead of its usual low, not that it seems to make much difference. It's broiling in my room. The news says it was cooler today- 80 something. I wouldn't know, not having ventured outside, but the humidity's somewhere around 40%, which would probably explain why I'm so miserable here.
I loath summer.
Yes, this is going to go on probably until...October? Usually it's cooled down around here by then. It's the constant love/hate. I love summer, I loath it, I love it, I loath it...
Free time is good. Heat sucks.
Have uploaded the last ten Order of the Phoenix countdown icons; they're here if anybody would like to see them. I'm really pleased with how these turned out, so you'll probably see them again with different text.
Am feeling slightly better now. Less bitchy, anyway. I was bitchy earlier.
I'm thinking tonight might be the night I try my once-a-summer experiment of staying up for as close to 24 hours as I can. I really just don't want to go to bed.
Too hot to sleep anyway.
Figured out how to do a little LJ override today- notice the geeky comment links? It was honestly the only thing I could come up with. It was either that or Cruciatus, and I've gotten enough strange flame-ish comments lately. Don't want to give people ideas.
Weirder things, too- about a half-dozen reviews for The Secret Hours, which all start out something like "I'm not a fan of this pairing but..."
Does anyone else just not know how to take those?

Date: 2003-06-12 01:02 pm (UTC)Yeah, it's just strange. "Weird pairing. Good fic." or "I hate this pairing, but your fic's good", which is really...well, okay, that's nice, you know? I don't think your main characters belong together but your story's okay otherwise? Strange.
It wasn't hot, exactly, just...muggy and kind of not fun. We usually don't get temps that low this time of year, and I think I'm more used to it just being hot. Upper 90's, 100's, stuff like that. Plus the fact I live in an upstairs apartment with no insulation, a western exposure on my room, and no shade trees or anything...doesn't help. :)
I can never decide what season I like best or worst- I hate being cold, but I hate being hot, too.

Date: 2003-06-12 01:49 pm (UTC)And the weather and being hot or cold? After an upstate New York winter of creeping dampness and blowing snow, I think I prefer heat to cold. Here, it frequently gets up to and above 100 (farenheit) or 40 celcius, but that's with no humidity, so I feel very sorry for you, wherever you are.
As people here are fond of remarking at either temperature extreme (-20 C/0 F or 40 C/100 F): it may be cold/hot but it's a dry cold/heat! I like my desert climate. Humidity is the devil.
Oh, and the comment links? Not too geeky, really. I enjoy a creative comment link, personally. Anyway, mine refer to peat bogs (in Newfoundland), if you want geeky.
