I got this from [livejournal.com profile] dangnylilytable, whom I trust to know what she's talking about.

The title of the sixth Harry Potter book is...

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

*shrug*

I'm not certain I believe that one, either. Half-Blood Prince was, if I remember correctly, the working title of CoS.

I think she's having us on. JKR's one evil, evil woman.

Her site drives me crazy, I can't find anything over there. But, the one thing I did find on the book title said that it HAD been a working title for CoS, and it was mentioned as "HBP".

*shrugs* Still not sure I like it anyway.

Damn. I really sorta dislike that title.

And yes. The wait. Something she's incredibly good at.

It's going to be shorter, really? I thought they were just going to keep getting longer and longer... :)

I don't know, though. If you think about some of the other titles, Goblet of Fire, Chamber of Secrets, they don't sound really brilliant or anything. But they books were alright.

Ugh... one or two years. Can you guys imagine how many bad fanfics with the title "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" will crop up between now and then?

I hope you don't either. I never read them, I just think to myself "Oh, God, not another one of those!" and click onward. Very quickly click onward.

GoF-length for the new book would be cool. Yeah, I liked that one too. It gave us Aurors and Death Eaters, and I adore Aurors and Death Eaters. And Mad-Eye Moody. (True, just the fake one, and the real one is so much cooler, but even so...) And Draco as a ferret.

I always found PoA a little lacking in the adventure department, too. But it did give us a lot of cool background info on Harry's parents and such. And why Snape didn't like Sirius and friends. And then there's the Shrieking Shack scene...

Well, I heard (read) something totally different: "Harry Potter and the Pillar of Storgé".

IMHO, that sounds better than "the half-blood prince" ;) *off to google*

Ah, damn, according to this site

http://www.museumofhoaxes.com/hoax/C32/

it's a hoax...

*lol* Yeah, that was the other thing I saw on JKR's site- that one is mentioned by name as a hoax.

For some reason Pillar of Storge reads to me like "Pillar of Storage", whic might explain why I find the title really amusing and a bit silly. :)
