One of the characters is someone else's OC (Under Gundam Wing, Delane is from TTDSDG, a rather large fanfic. But I still claim total credit for the pairing, so there.) Snape/McGonagall was my favorite HP pairing. I think the movie did a disservice, though, and eliminated most of the people who would be interested in doing this sort of thing. With the supposed longevity of wizards, I'd have expected book-canon!McGonagall to look less like Maggie Smith and more, let's say, like Allison Chou Harrington? ^_-

Oddly enough, there seems to be the opposite effect with Snape/Harry.

Our HH favored pairings differ. Quite a bit. I'd prefer Honor with Andrew LaFollet. There are a few friends of mine who were joking that she'll probably end up with Tom Theisman at the end of the series. That would amuse me, but I find that highly implausible.

(In case you're wondering, yes, I did play a certain admiral over in T_M for a bit, but nobody told me the fandom was so anti-fic! I needed to hunt more before jumping in foot-first...those rabbit feet were not so lucky. ^^;; )
