Finally something has gone right this week. The landlord called the repair guy, who was able to fix the AC in about ten minutes by climbing up onto the roof and dumping some freon in it. It's almost cold in here- and after yesterday, I sort of like it. :)
I've been too lazy all day to lug my seven pounds of laptop back to my room, so I'm working kind of haphazardly at the kitchen table, with the keyboard at this odd height from the chairs, which really sort of sucks for typing. Which means I haven't gotten much work done. But with the AC fixed, I'll be able to concentrate on something besides how hot I am. And, when I finally get it together to move Anna (the laptop) back to my bedroom, there's much less chance I'll pass out from heat exhaustion in the hallway.
All in all, a good day so far.
I got a new toy yesterday, too- found it while Mom and I were hanging out at Target, avoiding coming home to the broken AC. I have Faramir in Gondorian Armor, and as soon as I scare up the Target bag from wherever Mom stashed it (she did that quick sort of clean up that is mostly throwing stuff in closets and under beds before work this morning, in case the repair guy needed to come inside) I'll put him out to gather dust next to Eowyn. (Eowyn in armor, I think- after all that hunting for the purple dress version, I just don't like her quite as much...)
Now all I need is more shelf space in my room. Oh, wait, I've needed that for a while. Between the double and triple-stacked books, and the toys in front of them, I'm totally out of space. And I have two major vices- books and toys. Oh, and the occasional video game, but those don't take up much space.
Okay, so, serious question for the Pagan types on the flist. Do you guys think it's unethical to do a spell for money and then play the Lottory? Because I think it might work, and Mom and I could use the money. Buy a house, for sure with no worries... I mean, I like the apartment much better now that the AC's working again, but it still sucks.
I know it's a kind of petty, material sort of thing, but gods, I want it so badly sometimes...
*sigh* Probably too much. I really shouldn't do it. I don't want to be rich, really, I just want to be happy, and have a space of my own.
Wow, nothing like changing the subject, huh?

Date: 2004-06-17 04:44 pm (UTC)I wish we had AC in our house *sighs* Be prepared for my whining when it gets hotter again over here... Living under a roof facing South sometimes really, really sucks.
Anyway, I'm not pagan, but I was always under the impression that doing magic for personal gain was a bad thing (TM). Obviously that's just my absolutely uneducated opinion, though, so feel free to ignore me ;)

Date: 2004-06-18 11:22 am (UTC)Hmm, not sure if we share a room, but it's possible you're in here and I have no chance of seeing you through the clutter. *waves, just in case*
Ugh, that sounds horrible. Feel free to whine, I think you'll be entitled.
It's...complicated, and it has a lot to do with your motivation. I'm getting this feeling it's a bad idea, though, so we'll go with that and not do it.

Date: 2004-07-05 12:42 pm (UTC)Right now the chaos in here has reached such levels that it's quite possible that you're actually living somewhere behind that huge pile of stuff in the middle of my room ;) I'll so have to clean up in here after finals!
