The closer it gets to OoP time, the more anxious and worried I am.
tarimanveri is saying, 'please don't let [the character who dies] be X', and now I'm afraid of who X is that she's heard about (don't tell me, I'm better off not knowing).
I've been thinking about this for a while, and I desperately don't want it to be- well, several characters, and I won't say who because if it is one of them, somebody might be stupid enough to tell me. I'd have to kill them, but done would be done.
So I'm trying to keep myself busy, plugging away at various things I really do need to get done. But I seem to be easily distracted today. I'm constantly, almost obsessively, checking my email, the way that you do when you're waiting for something- even though I don't know what it is I'm waiting for.
My new Tom Riddle figure glows in the dark. So does the little diary accessory he came with. It's really very amusing.
I need to call the bookstore so I can at least stop worrying about tomorrow, but I'm really not ready to do that just yet.
Anybody else feel like answering five semi-random questions from me?

Date: 2003-06-19 01:13 pm (UTC)Anyway. Questions. I'm starting to think I'm not good at these, but it gives me something to think about, to. So...
1. Your livejournal bio says you consider yourself an outsider. What do you mean by that?
2. What would be your dream job?
3. What are you afraid of?
4. You're a pagan. Tell me something about what that means for you.
5. How do you come up with ideas for things like icons and fics?
Yes, I know it's bad form to ask the "where do your ideas come from" question, but I was running out of other ideas. Sorry. Hope these aren't too strange. :)

Date: 2003-06-19 01:32 pm (UTC)Question #1 is me indulging my obsession, of course. :)
1. What do you like about Snape/McGonagall?
2. What do you think is your best personality trait?
3. Have you ever been arrested? If not, could you ever see this happening? ;)
4. Aside from children and pets, of course, is there one thing you would try to save if your house caught fire?
5. Will you let your kids read the new Harry Potter book if they want to?
Have fun. :)

Date: 2003-06-19 01:43 pm (UTC)1. What do you like about Snape/McGonagall?
I think it's because everything I've read/found has been angst, and it's been BELIEVABLE angst. She can also fill a role similar to Dumbledores, without the squick factor. I enjoy both pairings (Ss/AD and SS/MG) but I don't want either one to get explicit. Different from how I view other pairings I've read.
2. What do you think is your best personality trait?
Argh. Hard one. I'm compassionate. I care about things. I can't stand to see things or people hurting or mistreated or unhappy. I want to fix it.
3. Have you ever been arrested? If not, could you ever see this
happening? ;)
Yes. *G* I was arrested for driving without a lisence. I moved and my notice to appear in court for a speeding violation didn't get forwarded. My lisence was revoked, I drove, and I got caught. ABSOLUTELY the most humiliating experience of my life. Handcuffs and finger printing and all. On the upside the state trooper was VERY nice and VERY VERY *cute*
4. Aside from children and pets, of course, is there one thing you would
try to save if your house caught fire?
Besides the computer? My teddy bear. I know, cheesey and sappy but I've had the thing since I was tiny. IT's an orange fisher price teddy with leather eyes and no nose and a blue bib with an apple. I *fight* with my children over the bear. Aren't I mature?
5. Will you let your kids read the new Harry Potter book if they want
to?
My kids are awful little... So No. I will however read it TO them, with teh possibility of minor editing if things get overly graphic. They have, unfortunately, been exposed to that knowledge that life isn't always nice, and people are sometimes mean. THeir bedtime story to date takes them up through Prisoner of Azkaban. The older gets it and loves it (he's four and a bit) and the not quite three year old follows some of it, but to a much lesser degree. So sure... I'll read it to them. After *I* finish *G*
Re: Eep!
Date: 2003-06-19 01:51 pm (UTC)Yes, I know he's a fictional character. So? ;)
Otherwise...I'm afraid it'll be Sirius, or Remus Lupin... Hagrid is another potential death mark, I suppose, though I have to honestly say his dying would bother me less than some of the others.
Does that help, or does it scare you more? Sorry- didn't mean to freak anyone out, honest.
Yeah, Dumbledore in my fic went out in a blaze of glory, saved most of the rest of the Hogwarts gang... It is interesting having him gone, because he's my default for people to go to when they have problems, or they're scared, or whatever. Not just the kids, either- my Minerva leans on him a lot, and he was almost the only person who didn't think Severus was worthless... Now it's hard. And that fic is a lot darker than I thought it would be because of that.
I had to put the fic away for quite a while when Richard Harris died, it was just too much.
Well. Now that was nice and cheerful, wasn't it? Talk about angsting madly! :)

Date: 2003-06-19 02:39 pm (UTC)And I thought I was strange. I think I want it to be the Dursleys. They're boring.
Re: Eep!
Date: 2003-06-20 11:34 am (UTC)Much as I hate to say it, I'm a bit apathetic when it comes to Ron, too. But I doubt it'll be him- he's too major to die yet.
Expendable... *lol* Very Slytherin. It's true, though.
The fic's one of those I've been sitting on, a multichapter that for some reason I decided I should finish before posting. At the rate I'm going that could take a while, so I'm thinking of putting up the first few chapters soon. Or at least posting some snippets in my livejournal.
