Rumors of my death by English paper have been greatly...
Well, you get the idea.
Still alive, still hanging in there. Some days better than others, but tell me what else is new.
Today I have a thesis statement & topic due for the Big Research Paper o'Doom (TM, patent pending) and... a job interview.
Well, it's kind of a job interview. People from the Apple Store at the mall are coming to camus to recruit seasonal employees. I haven't had anything approaching work experience in a while, but I do seem to end up manning the register at every charity fundraiser I've ever been involved with. They prefer six months' previous experience for cashiers (I checked) but I figure since it's holiday help, and they're coming to a junior college (three times over the next couple weeks) they're kinda desperate, and if I present myself well I might just land the job.
I hope so. I could use the experience and the money.
I just wish I was still as current on Mac OS as I used to be, because back in the day I was Mac Girl. All the schools I went to had nothing but Macs for student use, and I used to know everything about them. If I still did, I could apply for (and probably get) a better job as a Mac techie person. Something to keep in mind for later.
I want this job because it'd be cool, it would pay- not sure how much, but our minimum wage is $7.50 an hour, which ain't bad for a first job in college. Also, it's at one of the largest local malls, meaning it's on the bus routes.
Am wearing nice/casual job interview-y clothes, which Mom approved for me, and am (reluctantly) setting aside the Darth Vader hoodie I got at the con last summer in favor of my leather jacket. I love Darth, but he ruins my look. :)
I'm kinda nervous. Okay, kinda very... Wish me luck, guys!
