urbandruidI turned in the final draft of my paper yesterday, after making a million little edits in accordance with the anal, nitpicky comments I got from Professor- excuse me, Dr. Boring. Who is now Anal Man due to the paper thing.
He didn't like my adjectives, he didn't like the way I played with my words to make them sound (I thought) better. And he also apparently thought I needed to cite a source for every single fact other than Trotsky's name. Argh, argh, argh!
And then there was the topper. He thought the font size was too small. So I went and I asked him, what would you like? "Oh, just a little bigger..." It was a standard Courier New. And not that small either, because I could see it alright, and my vision's gotta be worse than his.
Whatever. So it wasn't fun, but I did all that stuff. And then of course I discovered that I had too much, that I'd gone over my page limit- and it's a good thing I'd had a page to spare when I started upping font sizes and adding crap, or I'd have been really screwed.
So more pretty words were sacrificed to the cause, which didn't make me happy.
It still reads pretty well, though.
I handed it in yesterday, and I guess we'll see. Spring break starts this weekend, so I don't really expect to hear anything on the paper until after we get back.
When, too, I have a Biology test because my class is full of morons who couldn't have voted, last week, to have the damned test tomorrow and get it out of the way. I wasn't there- I was at the eye doctor's office. Even my lab group, people who are usually pretty smart, are going, "Oh, but it's better to have it after the break, we'll have more time to study."
Riiight. Like they'll study. I'm going to have to make myself do it, but half of them won't put in the effort. Smart but lazy. I mean, I know this- you think they'd have a clue. But no.
There's nothing to be done about it now, but I know who to blame. So, well... I'm blaiming them.
