Hey, guys.

I didn't realize it had been quite that long since my last update- whoops. Sorry if anyone thought I was dead; while the end of the semester was a bit of a nightmare, I came through it alright. I got my research paper on the Morrigan back. I got a hundred percent on it, so I'm not really worried about my class grade-

Which is a good thing, because I just finally got the college website to work again (it's been down for its annual Christmas break week after finals maintainance which they always forget to tell us about) and I discovered that somehow, for some unfathomable reason, even though the profs had to turn in grades by last Friday, I have no grade for my Myths class. Not a bad grade or anything, just, ya know, no grade.

What. The. Fuck.

I swear to gods, if that flaky guy went off on bloody vacation without posting bloody grades... *growl* I am not happy.

Nothing I can do about it, of course. So I'm going to try to ignore it.

Mostly failing, but hey. A girl can try.

So, moving on.

I'm still not exactly thrilled about the whole dentist/pair of crowns thing, but I'm resigned. I can't walk around with a chipped tooth or wait till the other one rots away, so...yeah. Fortunatly this guy gives gas (gods bless you, nitrius!) so I shouldn't, you know, care too much about the procedure while it's going on. Which trust me is a good thing.

Like the new icon? I made this ages ago, but I kept forgetting to upload it and show it off. I'm really pleased with how it turned out, even if it is incomprehensible to most of you. That's Aisling Sturbridge, a vampire from Vampire: the Masquerade, the RPG. Scanned her myself from one of my gaming books, superimposed her clan symbol and the text. I'm probably far more pleased with myself for this creation than I should be, but it makes me nostalgic for the Tremere LARP I used to play with some friends around here. (They who moved to Arizona, and didn't even send a thank-you email for the Christmas card and gift for their new baby I sent them the year they left.)

Speaking of Christmas cards, I haven't done a single one, but I still mean to do them. They'll be late, more like New Years' cards than Chistmas ones, but you guys will get 'em. Promise.

We had a sort of pre-Christmas at Grandma's on Sunday, since my aunt and uncle, the newlyweds, are going up north to see her parents for Christmas. He'd gotten this huge turkey, so they figured, why not take it over there, feed six people instead of two? And Grandma being Grandma- she says we aren't doing presents for each other this year, then gets everyone stuff anyway. We got slipper socks- mine are cute, they have penguins on them- and little halogen safety headlamps. Yeah, really. Have little elastic straps to go around your head. Mine, of course, doesn't fit, not that I tried that hard.

Yeah. She means so well, but this is exactly like the year- no, years, sorry, she did it more than once- when we got electric candles. Yup. Those dorky little ones with a lightbulb in 'em. And just like then, I foresee a large stockpile turning up at some unfortunate Goodwill.

I love my grandmother. I really do. You just have to understand that the woman is nuts. She had this idea to take the four of us, herself, Grandpa, Mom, and I, to Monteray for Christmas. To visit the aquareum. Now, I like Monteray, and I like the aquareum, but, the coast? On Christmas? No way. I don't want to travel this week at all, and I certainly don't want to do it with her. So we nixed that, though we told her if she wants to go, they definitly should. I think Mom and I are both sort of hoping they'll skip off out of town and leave us in peace.

We kind of got used to being on our own for holidays when we lived up north, and we kind of miss it. Grandma's very smothering sometimes.

In other news, I may hex Amazon.com and/or UPS. They promised me Mom's present would be here by Christmas, by the 23rd in fact, and here it is the 21st.... Okay, they're forgiven. Just checked on the package again, and it finally made it to Oakland. That's usually the last stop before they put it on a truck headed north or south, and it should only take a day or two from that time to get it to my front door. Yay! They were just pissing me off, because I think they put it on a plane from IL to CA, and of course it doesn't get any of those comforting arrival or departure scans while it is flying the friendly skies. I swear, instead of "en route to Oakland, CA" they should say, "it's on a plane for Okaland, CA- don't panic!" Would be nice.

Huh. Says it got to Oakland at 9AM, which means it's probably already on a truck to Fresno, and they say they'll probably deliver it tomorrow.

*Big sigh of relief.* One less thing to worry about.

Am bummed it's not here today- was going to let her defer to my religious beliefs and open a present today if she wanted to, but it's kinda hard when they're not here. I could tell her what one is, but you know...nah. :)
