I have to BS my way through a maximum of 700 words on some myths-related subject by 11:00 AM tomorrow morning- AKA the first of two short papers I'm supposed to be writing for my class.

And I do not care. I have a stack of library books on my bed I should be flipping through and taking notes from, but all I want to do is kick back in my crappy desk chair (only not, because it might fall over, peice of junk that it is) listen to CDs, and write stuff. Which is, um, what I've been doing all day.

I hate college sometimes, I really do.

And yes, I am aware that I am a lazy dork. I don't really care.

I plan on writing my paper around 1AM or so, then passing out. I'll be up till then anyway. I swear, if I didn't have to type this thing, I wouldn't even bother writing it tonight. Really. Yes, it's due tomorrow. Sort of. In the sense of "the window of time to turn in short paper #1 is closing and the window to turn in short paper #2 is opening." My prof has a very flexible relationship with his due dates. Which seemed like a good thing at the start of the semester, and is now just driving everyone in the class crazy. Sort of like the open-endedness of the topics for the papers themselves.

I can't face this yet. I have fic to work on, and muses who've just decided they're speaking to me again after all.

A maximum of 700 words? Dude, we write. That's not even enough time to build up a head of steam; I don't blame you one bit for putting it off. (Of course, I am a procrastinator of epic proportions, so take it with a grain of salt!)

Seriously though. Feed the muses. If you humor them, they'll probably sail you right over the mythology stuff. :)

and fic is more fun anyway

I know! Of course, I think I put it off just a bit TOO long... but it's done now, so that's the important thing. :)

And fic is so much more fun...

I think a paper on any topic can drive you crazy, by virtue of its being a paper. I like mythology, I like the topic I wrote about- and I still hated writing the paper. Don't blame you for not wanting to get started on the WWI paper though- ugh.

Mmm, procrastination. Isn't it such fun?

That's exactly why I like fic- because I can write what I want, when I want. No deadlines. (Except the HP cookie jar ficlet they've probably given to someone else by now, or the essay I signed up to write about Moody...)

Mmm, procrastination... Yesterday night after midnight I finally got around to going through my notes about neurons that I had been wanting to read since last Friday ;p Who needs sleep anyway?

*lol* Well, most human beings, but I'm not sure college students are still human, so... ;)

I'm definitely one who has profected the ancient art of procrastination. Paper due tomorrow? You can write and print it up an hour before class. Wish they'd had that flexibility back in my days at college... I had to have at least 24 hours to get everything together.

Yeah, exactly. Like I said, if I hadn't had to type it, I wouldn't even have started it the night before.

I'm so lazy, I swear...

Don't you just hate that? I have the same problem right now. I just BS'd through a 750 word minimum essay and need to write a response to the Child Abuse Seminar my idiotic Life Span teacher made us sit through. Which I wouldn't have minded too much if she actually talked about child abuse and not her past clients....

Then I have the urge to work on about three creative things of different genres. Makes it hard to focus doesn't it? :)

Good luck with your projects hon.

Yeah, I had a similar problem. Though the creative muses have started running away when I have papers due. I think they're scared of MLA format.

For that matter, so am I. :)

Thank you! I'm so glad that I'm not the only one that fears MLA format. APA is soooooo much better. :)

Eh, I'm equal-opportunity. I think all the formats suck. :)
