So here I am in scenic Roseville- and I know just how scenic it is, too...

The drive up wasn't too bad- couple spots of really bad traffic, but not too terrible for the areas. We were glad to get here, though.

My grandparents have the room next door. Yeah. 'Nuff said.

We all piled into Grandma's car to drive over and meet the soon-to-be new inlaws for pizza, only we ran a little late. Grandma had some trouble reading the directions she'd written out herself. We ended up touring downtown, and spent a lot of time passing around the piece of paper with the directions on it, squinting at one line and trying to figure out what the street name was we were supposed to turn on.

Turns out what it says is "deadend". *facepalms*

So. Dinner was good, my uncle and soon-to-be auntie look so darn happy, it's great. The new fam is very funny, and very nice.

It was dark by the time we headed back to the hotel, so of course Grandma almost gets us lost again. Plus she drives like a bat out of hell, whether she knows where she's going or not, so...

My shoulder is killing me- the angle I'm typing at is not helping- and I keep getting sinus headaches, but other than that I'm doing alright. I only wanted to slap my grandmother once tonight- trust me, that's progress. And now I'm sitting here, having finally gotten my laptop set up at the hotel, and while I have the internet connect from hell (sooooo sloooooooow...) at least it's going and I can get my email, type this... tag a few people if I can.

The wedding is tomorrow, but it's not until 5:00PM, so I'll probably end up spending the day doing Gods know what. Grandma saw some used bookstore while we were busy getting lost, so we may get to get lost again trying to find it. Such a thrill, really...

The rental car we have is a Ford Focus. The Toyota of Doom has a better sound system, and the turn signal is really annoying. But, you know, it runs. Every time we go to turn it on, even. Something to be said for that.

I never thought I'd say this, but I kind of miss my clutter back home.

BTW, I have to tell you, I shared this little quip with Mom, who totally agrees. She says, and I quote, "Your friend Alex is hilarious. She's right, too."

So there you are. :)

Someone I knew bought one of those things and had it have major transmission problems 3 days afterward. The car wasn't even a month old.

Loser car.
