Aug. 5th, 2005 02:01 pmDay three, still dripping. The water stain on the ceiling is getting worse. So is the one in Mom's room, though her vent isn't dripping yet. I've soaked two towels today, and I'm probably going to have to swap out number three any minute now.
By this time yesterday, and the day before, it had stopped for a couple hours. We figure the ice that's freezing it up was melting, as it's the hottest part of the day, so it works then. Then it cools off a bit, the ice forms again, and it freezes up and starts dripping.
But. It's still going. Which I don't think is good at all.
No sign of the AC repair guy, of course.
My bathroom is full of sopping towels, and there's no place to dry them but in the shower, so I had to use Mom's this morning. Mom's shower is kind of annoying. We couldn't get the crappy old shower head off, to replace it with a new one, and I'm spoiled with my nice adjustable one. I think the water bruised my back; it comes out that hard. And of course I ran my elbow into the side of the shower when I was getting out. But the really annoying thin about having to use her shower is that some moron decided to just continue the carpet from her bedroom into the bathroom. Naturally, the shower leaks. Everything leaks here, except the dishwasher, and it used to.
So the drip's getting worse, and we figured out last night that when it's dripping, the vent isn't doing anything else, like pumping out the cold air it's supposed to. Now we know why it's like 20 degrees hotter in here than in the hallway.
If this keeps up much longer, I'm going to be camping out there. I think I know where the sleeping bags are hidden, it's just getting to them that's a problem.
I start back to school on the 15th. I'm not sure if I'm dreading it because it means an end to my vacation, which I've enjoyed for the most part, or looking forward to it because it means getting the hell out of this apartment for a few hours a day. I'm sure in a month or so I'll find the freshmen much more annoying than anything that's going on at home, but it'll take time. At least until the novelty wears off.
Anyway, I'm off to work on the next bit of writing backlog I've got to do, and maybe do a little plotting on my BF quote challenge fic. (And we'll ignore the obscure character/OC ship that wants a quote fic of its own, even though I could do it, because I don't need any more projects just now...)
