Ugh. Tired. Don't wanna go to class. Am possibly still traumatized by having had to go out with the masses yesterday. No, really, because among other things I had to go to the libary, which unbeknowns to me had some childrens' program starting an hour after I got there. I've never seen the place so crowded on a weeknight, not even when they have free tax help. (And it's almost that season again... 101 things you never needed to overhear about other people's finances...)

I was amused, though, vastly amused in fact, by the group of junior high age boys hanging out in the Young Adult section, swapping Magic cards, who were totally checking me out. I suspect my snazzy leather jacket might've had something to do with it, 'cause I do wear that pretty well, I think. Apparently I looked better than I thought I did, though. You know you look good when the 8th graders check you out. And this just amuses me to no end. I know I don't look as old as I am, but, c'mon, I even look way too old for them.

Yeah. Dream on, little boys. Dream on.

Told my mother about this- she was amused. (So was I, of course. Still.)

Mom: Magic? Didn't that go the way of Pokemon?
Me: It's still got its diehards.

But what I want to know is, why can't a guy who's at least in my age bracket be checking me out at the library? Really, this is vexing!

In other news, I have an Algebra exam today that I'm not worried about. I know, has hell frozen over? But wait, I can explain. This is our first test, and it's not much of one. It's the "if you flunk this or even do sort of crappy on it, run back to Algebra 101, do not pass go, do not collect $200" test. She gave us a practice form of it to, well, practice on, and it's pretty easy. Little numbers, simple problems. She's not letting us use calcuators, and I don't think I'll miss mine.

Some people are worried about this thing. Well, some of 'em probably should be. I don't know, maybe it's just me, because math really isn't my strongest subject, but I've never seen the point of taking a class you're not ready for. And I don't know what moron let these people in to Algebra II when they haven't had Algebra I, or haven't had it for a billion years or whatever, because I swear it's a waste of everyone's time.

Oh, and the jokers who want to add the class? Really really need to accept it as a lost cause and move on. 1.) there is no room at the inn, and 2.) it's way too late now anyway, they'll never catch up.

Bah. Don't wanna go... *sigh*
