(no subject)

It's October. When is it going to cool off around here? I mean, I know it's cooler than it was, but it's still not exactly the sort of weather you think of when you think of October. leviathanmuse is right, we really do only have 3 kinds of weather in the valley. (Not so hot, hot, and too fucking hot.) Truer words, dear...

It's a bad sign if I'm already anxious for the semester to be over, right? Not that school's that bad, I just feel this need for a nice extended vacation. A couple weeks where I can sleep in every day in a row, not have to get up at 6:15 for my 11:00 class... ect.

My uncle's getting married this coming Saturday, so Mom and I are driving up Friday morning. The whole family will be staying at the same hotel, sans uncle and soon to be auntie. My woe is great. Grandma is a nightmare at weddings. A. Nightmare. She still thinks we ought to drive up there with her and grandpa, too. Uh...no. Why don't I save myself the trouble and shoot myself in the head right now? Because...ack.

I'm looking forward to the wedding a lot, though. That and getting out of this heat for a while...

I just looked up the hotel we'll be staying at, and we'll have, among other things, a data port with DSL. So I'm packing the laptop. I was going to take it anyway, of course- I usually do when I travel. But this means I can use it for more than writing, which is great since we don't plan to be back till Monday night. :)

This makes me happy. Even though I still have to survive this week's classes, and this week's weather, plus all the pre-trip stress crap. We're renting a car as we cannot trust our dear rebellious Toyota. We so need a new car...

Ugh I hate this time of day. It's too hot to be in this room right now. I'll be back later.
