Finally Friday, and The Rain in - Fresno?
Feb. 27th, 2004 06:35 amOkay. I freely admit that deciding to wait to write my essay was one of the dumbest things I've done in a while. I did, however, manage to scare up a nice newspaper article and ramble on about said article and the sociological imagination for 2 and a half pages. And I'm glad it's done.
Now I get to go on to stressing about the Soc test on Monday.
Oh, spring break, wherefor art thou, spring break?
The fun just never stops around here, you know? It's raining again- the news says "light showers", but they said that last time too, and all the low-lying areas of campus (which, now that I think of it, is most of campus) flooded. It also poured. So I take their "light showers" with a grain of salt.
But see, I understand this stuff. When I lived up north, past Sacramento, they really called this stuff "light showers." I mean, I love my hometown, but they have no concept of this type of weather sometimes. Here they say, "it's raining, let's wait till it stops to go out." Up north, you might wait a hell of a long time for the rain to stop, so mostly we didn't wait.
It doesn't rain near as much here, though, which probably has something to do with it. This almost seems to be an unusually wet winter for us, which is good. Our summers are real dry; we're gonna need it.
In other news, I think I'm going to have to break down and go clothes shopping this weekend. I hate- not all my clothes, but some of them. (Most of the rest don't fit, or I love them but I'm wearing them too often, because I do hate so many of the other things...) Such a drag. I mean, I only go to class three days a week. And I'm fishing around in my closet trying to find something I haven't worn every Friday on record lately.
It's amazing how suddenly you care what people think, when you start doing the social interaction thing again. I don't want my new pals in the honor society to notice I wear maybe four different shirts this time of year. Not that I think they'd laugh at me or anythng, I just... yeah.
I'm really tired, still. Damned sinus infection. At least if I can claw my way through this day, I'll get a weekend. And I am gonna need it, too. Maybe then I'll be able to get some sleep, and get some non-school writing done...
...oh, wait. No I won't. I have a test to study for. Yay.
