And yet at the same time I keep finding myself pissed off with the anti-war protesters. It made more sense a few days ago, before they started tossing missles and such. Right now... what's the point?
The vast majority of Vietnam protests happened while troops were engaged in combat.
People are protesting because there's not a lot else to do. If you still disapprove of Bush throwing his weight around in the Middle East, and you want to let people know about it - well, writing to senators won't do much, because there's been a decided lack of voting on things in the past month. Sitting around and angsting about it won't help much, either. It's something to do, and it's probably just as important now as it was before Friday.
