Misadventures in Education
I'm still kind of annoyed about the Algebra. Because I figured the points possible and what I got, and I realized that if I had gotten just one more problem right, I wouldn't be sitting where I'm sitting. And that's the most annoying thing of all.
I knew going into the final that there was some stuff I didn't get- some stuff I'd been in class for, hadn't understood, and just hadn't gotten on top of and gotten sorted out. And there were those two sections I missed the day I was in the hospital. I copied the notes for that day from another student in the class, but I never understood what I was copying, and I never dealt with that either. It was only a couple of weeks ago, and I was really a little more concerned about making sure I was okay physically.
I thought I knew enough to scrape by with a C.
I almost did.
Now, of course, I have to go and 1.) drop my Stats class, since I can't take it now, and 2.) see if I can squeeze myself into another Algebra II class for the fall. And that's going to be the fun part, with the budget cuts. Not only does Fresno City not have the money to have as many sections of classes as they'd like (or as many as we could really use) but Fresno State is shunting a bunch of new freshmen our way in the fall, because they haven't got space for them. Freshmen who are going to be crowding our already-crowded general ed classes.
Normally my priority registration through disabled students combats this, because we get to sign up a week or so ahead of everyone else. Then returning students, then open registraton. The problem, of course, is that we're well into open reg, and with things the way they are, well... Yeah.
I'll try, but I'm not optimistic.
*sigh* Oh well. At least I'm on vacation, right? Right.
