I'm supposed to be returning a phone call to my grandmother. She needs tech support for her computer, and Gods only know what she did to it this time that I a.) cannot fix and b.) could not explain to her how to fix even if I knew, as Grandma is computer illiterate.
Oh yeah, plus, once that's done, she'll never shut up, and I'll be on the phone half the day listening to her tell me everything I'm doing wrong lately, and how I should not be wasting my summer writing and playing on my computer.
But if I didn't spend half my life on the computer, who else would she call with this crap, I ask you? *facepalms*
I'd sort of rather eat broken glass than make this phone call.
Family is so wonderful. Anyone want mine?

However, I'm beginning to think almost all of my family is either computer-illiterate or phobic! None of them have email addys, so I can't ever talk to them (and they're never home, so I can never call them when I bother trying to).
At this point, I'm the mutant.

go temporarily insanechange your mind.Wow. My family's just illiterate. They have email, but they don't know how to use it. Got this thing from an uncle a few weeks ago- in ALL CAPS. *cringe*
*gasp* You? A mutant? No, couldn't be! ;)

Foot doctor: You have an extra bone in both of your feet. But that's normal.
Me: Um. You can't use words like "extra" and then say it's "normal" to describe the same thing.
Foot doctor: You're missing the point.
Oh well. :)

Re: *hugs*
*sigh* I love my grandmother, I really do, but sometimes it's like I'm 1-800-tech support. And I swear I've answered the same questions six different times in the last year alone... Lately it's "Can I email this to my friend using X type of computer?" I dunno, try it. See what happens. Call me if it doesn't work. *rolls eyes*
I think she's still waiting for me to develop a hobby she understands and finds more acceptable, like volunteer work, or singing in a chorus. Which she's always trying to talk me into doing- with her and her friends. *sigh* Yeah. She means well, I guess, but I'm like, "uh, gee, thanks for thinking of me anyway..." Grandma does not understand the whole writing thing.
But at least my mom is cool with it. If I had to live with someone like Grandma, I'd probably have killed her by now. :)
