Well... Great-grandpa died today, fifteen minutes before Mom and I got there to see him. Grandma was with him, and the hospice nurse who is an old friend of hers.

It was quick, they say, relativly; he didn't suffer. And I thought, no, he's been suffering for years, only he hasn't known it.

It's better this way, I think, but now we're all worried about my grandmother. I think she'll be okay until she runs out of things to do. And then- then we might have a problem.

I should be tired, and I'm not, but I don't know what else to do besides sleep. It's been a strange day.
